What the settings do

These values come from our guided editors. Defaults are the editor starting values; they do not show the contents of a customer server.

Server name

Name in the server list, up to 1280 UTF-8 bytes so the game query remains responsive (umlauts: 2 bytes, most emoji: 4). Write a backslash as \\; \n creates a line break in-game.

Setting: server_name

Tickrate (ticks/s)

Server update rate — higher = smoother, more CPU.

Setting: server_tickrate
Default: 60
Range / options: 20 – 120

Reserved slots enabled

Lets VIPs join even on a full server.

Setting: use_reserved_slots
Default: true

Late join (seconds)

How long after round start players may still join (0 = off).

Setting: late_join_time
Default: 0
Range / options: 0 – 120

Native sockets

Better network performance (recommended: on).

Setting: use_native_sockets
Default: true

Player info range

Range at which player info text is visible.

Setting: player_info_range
Default: 10
Range / options: 0 – 50

Cryptographic RNG

More secure random numbers — slightly more CPU.

Setting: use_crypto_rng
Default: false

Server port

The allocated port used to connect to your server.

Setting: SERVER_PORT
Default: 7777
When it takes effect: Takes effect after saving and restarting the server.

Max. players

Player limit of your selected plan. Change it by switching plans.

Setting: MAX_PLAYERS
Default: 20
Range / options: 2 – 40
When it takes effect: Takes effect after saving and restarting the server.

Template name (unused by the game)

SCP:SL does not use this template value. Change the name using “Server name” in the guided configuration above.
