Frequently asked questions
How fast is my Minecraft server online?
Your server is usually provisioned automatically within 1-3 minutes. EULA and DNS are configured; Geyser + Floodgate are available on supported Paper stacks.
Can Bedrock players (mobile/console) join?
On supported Paper stacks, Bedrock clients can join through Geyser + Floodgate. Forge/Fabric modpacks remain Java-only; consoles may need an additional connection method.
What does the free tier cost and which inactivity rules apply?
The free tier costs EUR 0 and requires no payment method. Used servers sleep after 15 minutes without players and can be woken again. Never-played servers are recycled after 7 days; otherwise recycling follows 14 days without activity and two warnings. A recovery archive remains for 30 days. Each account can have 2 free servers, with at most 1 online at once.
Which server software / loaders are available?
Java: Paper, Spigot and Purpur for plugins, plus Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for mods. Bedrock uses the official Bedrock Dedicated Server (BDS).
What is the custom subdomain?
Every server gets an address like your-server.mc.mcfreehost.com. You can choose it yourself and change it anytime - Java and Bedrock players use the same address.
Is there a minimum term or contract?
The free tier remains free. Premium is a monthly subscription with no long-term minimum; automatic renewal can be disabled.
Is DDoS protection included?
Network protection depends on the hosting infrastructure assigned to the server, so the exact protection scope can vary.
Can I connect my own domain?
A mcfreehost subdomain is included for free. Connecting your own domain requires the corresponding paid domain entitlement. The domain tab shows the available options and checks your DNS settings.
How much is premium and what is included?
The configurator shows the current monthly price as a final price. Premium provides more RAM and a MariaDB database. Plugins, mods and backups are already available in the free tier within its stated limits. Cancel Premium monthly; automatic renewal can be disabled.
