Tested technical baseline
Better MC [FORGE] BMC4 is available as a launchable server configuration with forge on Minecraft 1.20.1.
Ready-to-launch Minecraft server
BMC4 expands Minecraft with hundreds of structures, creatures and biomes without upending the familiar rules. With us, the pack gets 8 GB RAM on the paid plan; it is far too large for the free server.

On September 24, 2026, our order process installed Better MC [FORGE] BMC4 in version v61 on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.20 and Java 17. Afterwards, there were 310 active mods in the mods folder. In addition, there were 58 disabled files with the extension .jar.disabled: client mods such as Audio Improvements or Controlling, which have no business on a server. Leave them disabled.
How far apart structures are is controlled by config/sparsestructures.json5. The pack sets a spreadFactor of 1.1 there, so structures are only ten percent farther apart than in vanilla. Values above 1 make them rarer, values below 1 more common. Every change only takes effect after a restart and only in newly generated areas.
According to config/waystones-common.toml, waystones for fast travel appear roughly every 25 chunks, matched to the biome; with frequency = 0 you turn them off. The ServerCore mod is on board, but its automatic throttling under overload is off. On a tightly sized server, you activate it in the dynamic block of config/servercore/config.yml. It then lowers view and simulation distance as soon as a tick takes longer than 35 milliseconds.
The server.properties does not come from the pack but from our base setup: difficulty "Easy", flying disabled, view and simulation distance 10. For an adventure pack with bosses, many groups raise the difficulty. You can do this via the file manager in the panel, ideally with the server stopped.

In our test, half of the memory was already in use without any players: around 4 GB after a restart, and even 4.3 GB shortly before the first pack start. Because BMC4 thrives on exploration and every group constantly generates new areas, we plan for 8 GB. This was measured without players.
Version v61 on Minecraft 1.20.1 with 310 active mods, installed and started on the test server on September 24, 2026; the login test was successful.
From setup to "Done", 7 minutes 54 seconds passed; a later restart took 126 seconds.
After the restart, BMC4 used about 4 GB with no players and around ten percent of a processor core, more than older packs on 1.12.2.
That is how much the fresh server took up. Every explored region with new structures adds to it.
A successful installation, startup or join test applies only to the tested version and does not demonstrate stable operation under every player load.

Yes. The wizard preselects the matching loader; modpack pages also load only the verified featured pack.
Yes. Always check compatibility and create a backup before changing versions.
No. A baseline demand of around 4 GB does not fit into a server with 2 GB. That is why you order BMC4 on the paid plan with 8 GB; the configurator shows the cost before payment.
No. VanillaReborn is the smaller pack of the same series on NeoForge 1.21.1. BMC4 runs on Forge 1.20.1 and, with over 300 server mods, brings considerably more structures and creatures. Fellow players need exactly the pack that runs on the server.
Minecraft Java Edition and BMC4 v61 via the CurseForge app or another launcher with CurseForge support. The client mods that are disabled on the server run completely normally on their end.
At our startup, there were 939 ERROR lines in the log, most of them from worlds_together and from client classes that a server cannot load. The server still ran stably and answered the login test.
