What is mcfreehost?
mcfreehost is a browser-based Minecraft server host for Java and Bedrock. The free tier includes 2 GB RAM and does not require payment details. Create a server, choose the edition, share its address and manage files, plugins and the console from your account. Servers sleep when unused and can be woken again when you want to play. Real setup and wake times
From 2026-09-01 to 2026-09-08 (UTC), 127 real customer servers reached first-ready in a median of 2:52 min; P95 was 19:53 min. In the same production snapshot, 492 of 495 recorded wake attempts succeeded (99.4%). Successful wakes took a median of 0:39 min, while P95 was 1:13 min and includes peak-load and queue delays. Internal/test, billing-exempt and add-on servers are excluded.
Cancelled wake attempts: 1. They remain included in the success rate.

What does the free tier cost and how long is data retained?
The free tier with 2 GB RAM costs EUR 0 and requires no payment method. Never-played servers are recycled after 7 days; otherwise recycling follows 14 days without activity and two warnings. A recovery archive remains for 30 days. Each account can have 2 free servers, with at most 1 online at once.
Can Bedrock players (mobile/console) join?
On supported Paper stacks, Bedrock clients can join through Geyser + Floodgate. Forge/Fabric modpacks remain Java-only; consoles may need an additional connection method.
How quickly is my server online?
Automatic setup usually takes 1–20 minutes; larger installations can take longer. EULA and DNS are configured automatically.
Is there a minimum term?
The free tier remains free. Premium is a monthly subscription with no long-term minimum, and automatic renewal can be disabled.
Do you show ads?
No. We show no advertising banners, pop-ups or third-party ads on our pages. The free tier is funded by optional Premium upgrades. Only with your marketing consent may pseudonymous click and purchase data be sent to Google for conversion measurement; details are in the Privacy Policy. Your server name starts out containing our domain — you can change it yourself at any time.
