Questions before your first world?

The most important differences are answered right here on the homepage.

What is mcfreehost?

mcfreehost is a browser-based Minecraft server host for Java and Bedrock. The Free plan includes 2 GB RAM and does not require payment details. Create a server, choose the edition, share its address and manage files, plugins and the console from your account. Servers sleep when unused and can be woken again when you want to play. For the complete setup choices, compare Java, Bedrock and modded options on the free Minecraft server page.

What does the free server cost and how long is data kept?

The free server with 2 GB RAM costs nothing and requires no payment method. Never-played servers are released after 7 days; otherwise release follows 14 days without activity and two warnings. A recovery archive remains for 30 days. Each account can have 2 free servers, with at most 1 online at once.

Which server software supports Crossplay?

Geyser and Floodgate let Java and Bedrock players play together. Supported server software: Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Pufferfish, Leaf, Leaves. Vanilla, Forge, Fabric and modpacks do not support this setup. Consoles may need an additional connection method.

How quickly is my server online?

Automatic setup usually takes 1–20 minutes; larger installations can take longer. EULA and DNS are configured automatically.

Is there a minimum term?

The free server stays free. Premium is a monthly subscription with no long-term minimum, and automatic renewal can be disabled.

What does Premium add?

Premium servers run around the clock without sleep mode and get more memory. They also come with tools for bigger servers: your own databases, moving over from your previous host, scheduled tasks, alerts when something goes wrong, a custom domain and webhooks that report events to Discord or other services automatically. Your world and settings stay in place when you switch.

Do you show ads?

No. We show no advertising banners, pop-ups or third-party ads on our pages. The Free plan is funded by those who voluntarily switch to Premium. Only with your marketing consent may pseudonymous click and purchase data be sent to Google for conversion measurement; details are in the Privacy Policy. Your server name starts out containing our domain — you can change it yourself at any time.

Your world is waiting.
