Does every driver need their own Steam copy of Assetto Corsa?
Yes, each driver needs the game individually on Steam. The dedicated server itself runs independently and stays reachable at all times.
How much RAM is enough for our server?
Assetto Corsa does not need much — 2 GB handles full grids comfortably on most tracks. Only sprawling modded tracks with a lot of slots call for extra memory.
Can we run mod cars and tracks?
Yes, both are supported — every driver needs the same mods installed. CSP (Custom Shaders Patch) and Sol for weather and visuals run client-side; the server itself needs nothing extra for that.
Booking mode versus pickup mode — how do they differ?
In pickup mode drivers come and go as they please — good for open sessions. In booking mode everyone reserves a slot in advance, which suits organised races and leagues.
How do my fellow drivers find our server?
The easiest route is Content Manager, where your server shows up in the list — or direct connect with IP and port. Your own subdomain also makes you easy to find.
How do we set up a league or a fixed event?
With booking mode, each driver reserves a slot, name, and car in advance. entry_list.ini sets starting positions and vehicles, and the result logs from the server give you the basis for scoring — tools like stracker help with the breakdown.
Do I get a subdomain for my server?
Every mcfreehost server ships with its own address such as yourserver.mc.mcfreehost.com right from the start. Rename it anytime from the dashboard — no ticket required.
What do add-ons like bots and databases cost?
Monitoring and database add-ons — Uptime Kuma, MariaDB, phpMyAdmin, Game Server Watcher — never carry a surcharge. For music and chat bots, the first slot you activate is included; every additional bot is billed on top, and the dashboard shows the exact cost before you switch it on.
How long until I can actually play?

Am I locked into a long-term contract?
No — you are on a subscription that renews monthly, and you can cancel it from the dashboard whenever you like; the same goes for turning off automatic renewal.
Are the servers located in Germany?
Yes. All game servers run in German data centres (Falkenstein and Limburg) connected to the major German exchanges — low pings for players across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and solid latency for the rest of Europe.
